Other Techniques

There are many other data mining techniques that we have not covered here. Some are highly specialized, such as "survival analysis" techniques, which can predict how long someone is likely to remain a customer, or how long someone is likely to live with a terminal illness, given their personal characteristics and any measurable outside influences acting upon them. Other techniques, such as neural networks, time series and latent structure analysis, are beyond the scope of this non-technical discussion. But we would be happy to discuss these and others in more depth if they seem appropriate to your needs.

Also, sometimes a data mining situation will call for the application of several techniques jointly. Each client situation has its own special requirements, and the proper solution is one which is tailored appropriately.
